Shawnigan Lake School (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep
All of the first period action happened with Delta on the power play as Jack Morgan (2G, 1A) scored twice with the man advantage, and Ellis Thurmeier countered while Shawnigan was on the kill. Caden Leibel (2G, 1A) scored the first even strength goal of the game just 13 seconds into the second period. Sullivan Bryan (1G, 1A) and Leibel traded goals in a span of 1:30 as it remained a two goal lead. Kishan Saggu (1G, 1A) extended the lead with a Delta power play goal, but Ryder Kerr replied with a power play goal of his own a few minutes later. Delta would score the only goals in the third as Andy Kim added his team’s fourth power play goal of the game and Wyatt Callander (1G, 1A) found the back of the net with 1:09 remaining.
Indigenous Sports Academy (4) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
Looking to avenge their loss yesterday, ISA opened up to a 2-0 lead as Kaythin Mirasty and Owen Sinclair (2G) each found the back of the net. Collin Friedrich (1G, 2A) responded for Pilot Mound 39 seconds later, with just one second left on the clock. Clemens Pfeifer and Jack Perrier (2G) scored back-to-back goals as Pilot Mound grabbed their first lead. Junior Sun levelled the score just 30 seconds later, though Luke Adam (2G, 1A) replied for PMHA less than two minutes after that. Sinclair’s second goal of the game late in the second would tie things heading into the final 20. With 4:36 left on the clock Perrier would score his second of the game to give Pilot Mound a late lead. Adam would add an insurance marker in the final minute as Pilot Mound won 6-4 over ISA. Barrett Hayes (28/32) and Jacob Appleby (34/40) were in net for their respective teams.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) U17 Prep
Isaac Sousa (2G) and Emmett Jones traded goals late in the first period before Tayln Kopansky scored the lone second period marker to give RHA Winnipeg a 2-1 lead heading into the third. Jack Kibblewhite tied the game 1:57 into the third but Madden Van Kemenade (1G, 1A) scored the RHA Winnipeg game winner just 25 seconds later. Sousa doubled the lead with his second of the game midway through the period and Gavin Quennelle put the game out of reach with an empty netter with 1:14 remaining on the clock. Chase Charriere (33/35) and Cam Hoose (31/35) each faced 35 shots in net.
Ontario Hockey Academy (1) vs Stanstead College (6) East U17
Stanstead (6-0-0) remains unbeaten on the season with a 6-1 win over OHA (1-7-1) Sunday. Elijah Arrigo (1G, 1A) and Parker Banks (3G) scored first period goals as Stanstead got off to a hot start. Emanuel Ganz (1G, 1A) and Eelis Lehtoranta added second period goals to give their team a commanding 4-0 lead. Banks would score twice in a span of 56 seconds to complete the hat-trick early in the third period. Liam Marcil got OHA on the board 6:47 into the third to ruin the Gabriel Poitras (17/18) shutout bid. Mathis Bernier (36/42) faced 42 shots in the loss.
Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (1) vs Shawnigan Lake School (7) Female U18 Prep
After putting 12 into the OHA Black net yesterday, Shawnigan picked up right where they left off as Maya Bulmer scored 1:51 in and goals from Cassandra Kehler and Esme LiChong (1G, 1A) saw their team up 3-0 just 5:08 in. Lylah Dietz scored for OHA Black late in the first, ending the 76-plus minutes of Shawnigan shutout action against them. Taya Lonsdale (3G) scored the lone second period goal before scoring twice in a span of 21 seconds in the third to complete the hat-trick. Lola Macuiba added a late tally to round out the scoring.
STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep
STAR opened the scoring 4:20 in when Max White scored his fourth of the season. Akira Ota (3G) tied the game 3:34 later with a power play marker. He would add his second of the game midway through the second, with Matthew Latscha adding a power play marker 46 seconds later. Ota would complete the hat-trick late in the period as CDA grabbed a 4-1 lead. Zak Stabbler would bring his team within two with a shorthanded marker late in the second but Alex Doyer (31/33) made 12 third period saves to secure the CDA victory. Sam Trnecka (34/38) was in net for STAR in the loss.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (7) U18 Prep
Kiran Fedun gave RHA Kelowna the opening goal 2:52 into the game. Wenatchee would quickly respond with a 5-on-5 goal from Jackson McCutcheon, and a shorthanded marker from Cameron Kimmerly. Dylan Cawley replied for RHA Kelowna on the same power play to even the score and goals from Aidan Fisher (2G) and Benjamin Bowtell (1G, 1A) put RHA Kelowna ahead going into the second. Brady Walker (1G, 1A) added another RHA Kelowna power play tally and Riley Pederson added his fourth of the season as RHA Kelowna held a commanding 6-2 lead going into the final period. In the third Fisher would extend the lead, while Collin Ubrig added another Wenatchee shorthanded tally. Ultimately the game would end 7-3 in favour of RHA Kelowna as Conner Nicolson (30/33) made 30 saves for the win.
BWC Academy (8) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4) U15
Theo Falk (3G) and Wyatt Lowther scored first period goals as BWC Academy held a 2-0 advantage going into the second. Camden Freeman got STAR on the board with a power play tally but BWC Academy quickly responded with three straight as Carter Yule (1G, 1A), Ryder Bui (1G, 1A) and Falk all found the back of the net. Mason Olson brought STAR within three early in the third but goals from Nathan DaSilva (1G, 1A), Ryker Carson (1G, 3A) and Falk put the game well out of reach. Olan Ward (1G, 1A) and ET Kennedy would add late consolation goals for STAR to bring the scoreline to a more respectful 8-4.
North Shore Warriors (3/OT) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) U15
A lone first period goal from Lux Naka (2G) saw OHA lead 1-0 after 20. Mattias Gallina (1G, 1A) tied the game 1:40 into the second but Naka responded 10 minutes later for OHA. Tony Jr Han scored the lone third period goal to tie the game and force OT where Oliver Demarco gave North Shore the 3-2 win, despite never leading during the game. Donovan Kuhn (26/28) and Deakon Beaudry (29/32) were in net for their respective teams.
Indigenous Sports Academy (3) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep
After suffering a 7-3 defeat to Pilot Mound yesterday, ISA looked to exact some revenge with Mason Sauvie giving his team a 1-0 first period lead. Riley Robert scored his third of the season 2:33 into the second to tie the game. Jaden Prairie Chicken (1G, 2A) restored the ISA lead but Wolfgang Cook countered just 16 seconds later. Logan Alexis and William Picklyk (1G, 1A) traded goals late in the second as the game was even at 3-3 heading into the third. Austin Polonoski gave Pilot Mound their first lead with 8:51 left and they wouldn’t look back as Asher Gingras (1G, 1A) added his 14th of the year to double the lead and give PMHA their second straight win over ISA. Tait Sanchez (31/34) and Kael Ratt (48/53) were in net for their respective teams.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (6/OT) vs Yale Hockey Academy (5) U17 Prep
Despite a game that saw 11 goals it was tied 0-0 after a scoreless first period. Gavin Bradley (2G) opened the scoring for Yale 1:58 into the second period with his first of the season. Brody Bradshaw (2G) and Joshua Johnstone (3G) replied for RHA Kelowna with their 10th and 11th goals of the campaign. Yale regained the lead heading into the third as Jordan Puckering and Bradley found the back of the net in the second half of the period. Johnstone tied the game early in the third period as the teams continued to trade blows. Reid Rabinovitch (1G, 1A) put RHA Kelowna ahead with a power play tally and Johnstone extended the lead with his hat-trick goal 17 seconds later. But Yale wouldn’t go away easily as Matteo Di Stefano (1G, 2A) and Daniel Havard (1G, 2A) scored in the final 3:40 to tie the game and force overtime. In OT Bradshaw scored his second of the game 1:27 in to give RHA Kelowna the 6-5 win in an exciting back and forth contest.
Delta Hockey Academy Green (2) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) Female U18 Prep
In the CSSHL Featured Game of the Day Hayley McDonald (2G) got the party started late in the first. Jordan Blouin added to the RHA Kelowna lead late in the second period with her first goal of the season. The Delta Green power play got them back into the game early in the third as Erica Barnard and London McDavid each capitalised on the odd man advantage. Callie Rice put RHA Kelowna back on top with the game winning goal with 7:10 remaining on the clock. McDonald sealed the deal with 2:36 left when she scored a shorthanded goal for RHA Kelowna. Ava Drabyk (13/15) made 13 saves for the win while Jillian Matthews (42/46) faced 46 shots in the loss.
BWC Academy (4) vs St. George’s School (5) U18 Prep
Sam Auld (2G) and Hunter Ashton traded first period goals before Lukas Lima and Auld did the same in the second. Lukasz McIsaac gave St. George’s an early lead and Lucas Benn scored his first of the year to double the advantage. Charlie Weaver (1G, 1A) scored less than two minutes later as St. George’s looked to cruise to a victory ahead by three. But Jonathan Bitonti (1G, 1A) and Christian Revel would score less than a minute apart with less than two minutes remaining to give BWC Academy a late push. Ultimately, Cash Christie (42/46) shut the door for the final 20 seconds to give St. George’s the 5-4 win.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (6) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) U17
Kegan Power (3G) got things started off for NAX with an adept tip from the hashmarks. Reese Scott would equalise things for RHA Winnipeg soon after but a late pair from Cassius McDonald and Braeden Malenchak (1G, 3A) kept NAX in front through twenty. The second would be more fortunate to RHA Winnipeg as Liam Harvey chipped in with a lucky bounce early. However, Barrett Fogolin would strip the puck away at his own blueline before taking it all the way down and wiring home the 4-2 goal for NAX. Zac Howell (1G, 1A) would get that one back for RHA Winnipeg late in the frame. Into the third, Power would score shorthanded to once again restore NAX’s two goal lead but once again RHA Winnipeg would push right back as Casey Mitschke whacked home a loose puck in front. RHA Winnipeg would fire a total of 15-shots on net in the third, but Mitschke’s would stand the only goal to find twine in search of the comeback. Power would polish off an empty netter for the hat-trick and the NAX victory to close out their Sunday.
OHA Edmonton (4) vs Edge School (1) Female U18 Prep
Late in the first, a pair of goals only separated apart by 48-seconds gave OHA Edmonton the lead through two. Joryn Hempel got it started off with a shot off the rush while Izzy Gollop (1G, 1A) finished a brilliant feed from Peyton Carter (2A). Come the second, OHA Edmonton continued to build on their lead as Mercedes Dunbar nabbed her sixth of the season late in the frame. Kyla Pappas would add one more for OHA Edmonton in the third while Brooklyn Deck broke Ava Antle’s (25/26), slipping it five-hole on a move down low.
Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) vs North Shore Warriors (3) U17 Prep
Despite being outshot in the first, North Shore would come out with the lead thanks to a marker from Cody Lee. The second would showcase more chances for the Warriors as Connor Liu and Alexander Brent would extend their lead to three with two goals just under two minutes apart. Come the third, Wenatchee’s Sean Strasser would nab a powerplay marker part way through, but that was all the Wild would get past Oscar Hicik (40/41) who would go on to collect 40-saves in this winning performance.
Ontario Hockey Academy (3) vs Stanstead College (11) East U18
Scoring came easy to the Stanstead College Spartans on Sunday. Rimouski Oceanic prospect Aaron Chipp (3G, 2A) led the way with a hat-trick and five points while four other skaters produced three point appearances. Jack Carter (21/24) picked up the win in goal making 21-stops to close out a dominant Sunday outing.
STAR Hockey Academy (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U15 Prep
Kaius Millan (2G) got the scoring ignited in this contest, stripping the puck away from a STAR defender before burying the game’s opening tally. Later in the frame, Braxton Baker (2G) would pot a pair of wristers past Dylan Mingo (34/37) to give his team the one goal advantage into the second. Part way through the middle frame, Daniel Makovetskiy (1G, 1A) would put home the 3-1 goal off an effort down the right hand side. However, just two minutes later Millan would secure a wrap-around for his second of the afternoon, bringing RHA Kelowna to within striking distance. In the final period, both teams would pile on the chances as tension heated up as the clock ticked closer to zero. In the final thirty seconds, Erik Sims (30/32) would stretch across a yawning cage to stuff what would’ve been the sure tying goal. Sims’s save would back STAR to their third straight win, closing off a perfect Okanagan road trip.
Delta Hockey Academy White (6) vs Yale Hockey Academy (2) U15
Yale would open the scoring with three unanswered goals to start the third. Max Ritchey (2G) would start things off early while Lukas Stevens and Connor Baines (1G, 1A) nabbed a quick pair near the end of the frame. Reid Dutschek would get Delta White on the scoresheet in the late stages of the first. Teams would split their scoring in the second. Yale would enter the third up 4-2 and further build on their eventual victory. Ryker Stevens (1G, 2A) would tip home Yale’s fifth to cap off a three point afternoon. On his birthday, Lucca Tassone (27/29) picked up the win between the pipes, making 27-saves in total.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs Balmoral Hall School (2) Female U18 Prep
Just as the first minute ticked by, Shayla Scinocca (2G) would capitalise on a 2-on-0 with Ava Hrubeniuk (1G, 1A) to give RHA Winnipeg the early lead. That lead would bleed into the second and further increase as Scinocca put home another after Shea Warnick beat out an icing to feed her in front. Shayna Bannister would get one back for Balmoral Hall later in the frame but the two goal lead was quickly restored after Sydney Stibbard jammed home a loose puck in close. In the third, Maddie Kaiser would wire one through on a breakaway, but Hrubeniuk would later bury an empty netter to seal this win up for RHA Winnipeg. Maggie Schell (40/42) played a big role in shutting down Balmoral Hall, picking up 40-saves on the evening.
OHA Edmonton (8) vs Edge School (2) U17 Prep
Only four OHA Edmonton skaters left the ice without a point Sunday evening. Logan Miller (2G, 1A) led the way with the opening goal in part of a three point performance while WHL signed prospects Cash Brebant (1G, 2A) and Jaggar John (3A) each chipped in three as well. Dysen Loewen (34/36) played vital in goal, making 34-stops, only being beaten twice, both off the stick of Liam Lacey (2G).
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U17
OHA took off with the lead in the first thanks to a Gage Kiselbach goal. The tides would turn in the second as RHA Kelowna began to turn up the heat. Carter Bacon would blast home the game tying goal part way through the frame. Come the third, RHA Kelowna would score three unanswered to comfortably take this contest a score of 4-1. Fabian Kotschan (1G, 1A) would net the eventual game winner while Nixon Whieldon (1G, 1A) supplied the insurance marker.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) U17
Casey Mitschke (1G, 2A) was the lone scorer through twenty minutes of play, giving RHA Winnipeg the initial lead. Half way through the second frame, Jacob Collins would get NAX on the scoresheet, knotting this contest up at 1-1. RHA Winnipeg would restore their lead soon after as Atley Feniuk (2G, 1A) and Harlan Arnason (1G, 2A) nabbed two late goals to grant them the lead heading into the third. RHA Winnipeg would go on to tally another four unanswered in the final period of play, including two powerplay markers. Grayson McDonald (22/23) was in goal for the Monday victory.
St. George’s School (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep
Jason Gao (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for St. George’s off a behind the back feed from Aaron Castro (1G, 1A). However, Delta would fire back with two before the end of the frame, Jack Morgan (1G, 1A) would nab a goal and a primary assist in the period. Come the second, Kishan Saggu (2G) would pick up speed in his own zone before making an end-to-end effort to put Delta up by a pair. Saggu would add another in the third for the eventual insurance marker as the Saints would add an extra goal to their total. Andy Kim (2G) would net a pair late to extend Delta’s Monday victory over St. George’s.
St. George’s School (4) vs North Shore Warriors (5/OT) U18 Prep
Sam Auld (2G, 1A) and Mark Lee split the scoring in the opening frame. Halfway through the second, Noah Frick and Amadeo Sim would split the scoring once more, but a late tally from Vladislav Ibragimov (1G, 1A) on the powerplay would leave North Shore in the lead through forty. However, St. George’s powerplay was lighting things up early in the third as Harshaan Kaila (1G, 1A) and Auld would put the Saints ahead. Late in the frame, Matteo Paradiso would tie things up for North Shore, forcing overtime. In the extra frame, Jonathan Lee would get hauled down for a penalty shot, where he’d make no mistake, giving the Warriors the comeback win. Brooke Davis (46/50) made 46-saves in the win.
